I FUCKED UP YALL!

I heard you liked v2′s, so I put a v2 in your v2 so you can v2 your v2′s while you watch your v2′s. In other words woops, I forgot to tell marimar about the video delay in the Slayers the Movie v2 so the subs got all messed up. Thankfully marimar is super awesome and helped fix the stuff pretty quickly, patches should be up soon. v2 patch download for the movie

Progress Update

Isn’t Yuriko cute when she is serious?

Well I felt like I haven’t said anything in a while so I wanted to give an update.

Softenni episode 1 is getting a v2 that will have better video and the most recent subs which will replace the current one on nyaa

Softenni episode 2 is done and being looked at by Sashamaru and will be released soon

Slayers The Movie’s v2 is moving along and will hopefully be done by the end of this week

In a bit of news I am doing a new show called Idol Project, its a fun little 4 episode OVA that has really nice art and episode 1 is nearly done. I am just waiting on confirmation from marimar for the subs.

And finally, I have begun work on Nadesico again and this time I am working to make it so I don’t have to manually go through each frame meaning I might actually be able to get a release out quickly.

Update: Mediafire and Releases

Ok so mediafire links should be working again

Progress Updates:

Slayers The Book of Spells OVAs:

Encoding:Done

Subs: Being worked on, currently styling and editing

Slayers The Motion Picture:

Encoding:~50% Lossless file is done and the lossy file is being encoded and should be done in a day or two

Subs: Will be worked on after encoding is done and Slayers Book of Spells is done

Progress Update

Ok so first off, Slayers Book of Spells ovas are done, encoded and are being styled and edited a bit by marimar not to be confused with Mirari who made our fancy html template for the bakabt Dirty Pair Project Eden offer.

Slayers – The Motion Picture aka Slayers Return is about halfway done encoding.

I am through the lossless stage now, it is now in a 60fps lossless file, but I need to resize, deblend and denoise it and then marimar will probably help with the subs for it.

So sorry for the absence as of late but I bear good news

So for a while I have not been really active online or on irc, however that is because I was busy with school and college and stuff. I have a new laptop that is actually stronger than my current desktop and I have been able to pump out encodes about twice as fast so far.

I have Dirty Pair Project Eden done and ready to ship and I am quickly working through the Slayers Book of Spells ovas. I have 2 episodes out of 3 done for that I just need to do the subs for those. After that I will probably do the Slayers Movies and maybe pop out a couple other episodes of something else. Softenni should hopefully get back on track as well as it has been encoded and just needs to be edited and such. Look forward to more stuff finally from me and from now on more updates regarding progress status and other updates :D

State of the Group Address: Now with added lateness

You know what this means right?

Please excuse the lack of flair and breadth I have been sick recently and am not 100%  mentally here

Well this year has gone by in a flash, and unfortunately I was busy last month so instead of March 28th this is being done on April 28th cause you gotta atleast maintain the same day lol.

It’s odd how it seems like just yesterday that I was sitting here writing my first State of the Group Address, I guess you could say a lot has changed over the last year. I have finally begun to get the hang of creating filters in avisynth and I am beginning to understand the mathematical principles that are in play whereas I used to only understand the visual cues and concepts. Despite my increases in understanding and competency I will say that my encode turnout rate has been quiet abyssal. If we discard the PowerPuff Girls Z encodes I didn’t really get much of any series done this year, which as most of you know has been my main issue. However I think I will talk more about that later, for now I am going to go over the staff changes in Dual-Duality

This year I managed to actually not end up losing more people than I gained.

We have had people come and go, people like Goretek who wanted to help us with subs but ultimately ended up disappearing never to be heard from again due to personal circumstances.

Unfortunately Chevy787 also has not been with us for the majority of the past year due to real life concerns, though there is a chance that over the summer he may return and help for a while.

And of course I always like to try and pick up a few newbies along the way, this year it was Obto and Vash.

Obto ended up being too busy with work to actually do any encoding but at least he is still here and talks with us and gives moral support lol

Vash still has promise and I was in the process of teaching him when he became AFK for for oddly long periods of time. He still hangs around in the channel but it seems oddly hard to actually get a hold of him.

Though we did make some good friends this year.

colormeKEVO is the leader and founder of the wonderful ColorMeSubbed you may know them for their excellent subs and insane typesetting (especially in things like Nisemongatari) Kevo has been very nice and helpful to me over the past year and you will all be thanking him for the OP and ED karaoke when I release my 10bit v2 of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

I also started talking with OZC again this year. He’s a nice guy and has been willing to let me help him with the avisynth scripts on his shows aswell as being a test subject for my filters lol. It has been nice being able to talk with someone about encoding and such. He also is gonna be helping me with audio syncing stuff as Sashamaru doesn’t always have the time to be doing it.

I suppose I should also be thanking Rarely_Upset for both giving me a reason to do Softenni and by actually helping me release it.

And of course I would like to give all of my staff a big hand and thank them for sticking with me and helping even when the going got tough. I would like to thank Sashamaru for being very encouraging and at times helpful especially when it came to releasing things. Sashamaru has been very helpful with his editing on Softenni and for that I thank him. Again I will thank torque for always having random pieces of advice or criticism. His knowledge has been especially helpful when regarding patching and typesetting and other general fansub related stuff. I want to thank EvilLivesHere for continuing to host our site, we are very grateful for his support and services.

Alright so I mentioned before that I haven’t really been getting much of anything released lately. Well for the vast majority of last year I had issues regarding my computer and my internet connection which sorta put me out of action for half of the year. Thankfully that shouldn’t be an issue going forward. Regarding the direction of the group, I want to get more things done. Of course I have been saying this for a while and I will continue to say it until it happens. I think by focusing on not doing too many shows at once I should be able to get more things done. If I had someone who could handle the dealing with the subs for me I know I could get a lot more things release because what often stalls me is having to mess around with subs. One of the few exceptions has been with Softenni, I actually like doing the editing and typesetting and such so this has not been that much of a problem for that show. I have become content with my video quality and filesizes as of late and will of course bring you the best possible quality that I can supply. One of the changes I have made regarding releases is including FLAC more often. If find that as long as the FLAC is not above 100MB or so that it doesn’t impact the filesize too negatively. One fun thing that came into my attention this year has been 16bit filtering. 16bit filtering allows for much more accurate filtering and can be used in conjunction with dithering to avoid and remove banding. Essentially 16bit means that there are 2^16 ie 65536 available colors within the spectrum where as normally you only have 2^8 IE 256. The massive increase in number of shades and precise rounding makes for better overall filtering when used correctly. I won’t make more promises, and I won’t make more unnecessary claims about what I plan to do. Instead I will just try to do what I can and hopefully get things done. After I finish Softenni I have got a good bit of stuff stock piled that just needs release prepping, but I will save that for later.

I may come back and add more to this when I am feeling better and can think straight but until then;

The State of the Group is strong and I hope to show you that in my actions as well as in my words.

Ok so to clarify both the 720p and 480p encode are 10bit, the 720p has FLAC the 480p has high quality AAC. The 480p will be out tomorrow. The subs included are my version and the original ayako-nishishi. The reason I dropped the Hiryuu subs is because they were both bad and it would have required an extra 50MB of fonts for the damn karaoke so I think not. If however someone actually wants the Hiryuu subs I guess I could make a patch for you. Tomorrow I will post some editing comparisons to show why this version is actually worth getting besides the obvious video quality without huge file bloat.

Softenni Progress update

LoL no but really we are actually almost done

The encoding is done, thanks to a couple of mistakes an accidental wasted time encoding the same thing it took a bit longer but currently we are actually waiting on Sashamaru to get back to me with his version.

As it stands I have edited the script, I also asked Rarely_Upset to help and he edited the script and collaborated with me and we compiled a version from our edits and now we are just waiting on Sashamaru to give us amazing version so that we may begin forming a master version.

Comparisons of the editing later ;)

Oh and apparently Sashamaru fixed the issue with the formatting so I should no longer leave you with UGLY no formatting text blocks :D
